Concert Photos: Fuel at Triad Music Fest 2011

Concert photography has unfortunately fallen in the background for me recently. I am excited to announce that I closed on my first house ever yesterday, though! There also haven't been very many concerts that intrigue me around the area recently either, so I guess this makes it a good time to catch up on what I've fallen behind on.

Concert Photography of Brett Scallions of Fuel

Back in September (phew, that seems like forever ago now!), Fuel performed as part of Greensboro, North Carolina's 2011 Triad Music Festival. I really had no interest in any of the other bands playing, and didn't even buy the tickets to see Fuel until the day of the show. Needless to say, that was not enough time to request and obtain a photo pass. I left with mostly garbage photos, and not many of them, but some is better than none.

Speaking in all honesty, it wasn't worth the money I paid. I don't think it was the band themselves, but the stadium was using it's typical baseball game sound system... which was just horrible. And don't even get me started on the crowd. It seemed it was a lot of younger people that were just there for a close spot to the stage for the final act, and they were literally booing and yelling at Fuel to get off the stage. It was one of the most disheartening things I've ever seen at a concert! First time I have ever genuinely felt bad for a band on stage.

Fuel's lead singer, Brett Scallions, was looking fierce (see left photo) most of the night, despite the poor crowd.

Fuel's lead guitarist, Andy Andersson.

Sadly, this is the only handful I'd rate worthy of sharing. Hopefully I will get a chance to see (and shoot) them again sometime soon, and at a better venue!
